Cash advance cost calculator

The law's numbers, not a lender's pitch: choose a licensed state and an amount to see the top legal fee for a two-week advance. Where a state fixes no fee, the typical market range is shown instead.

Reading the result

The fee shown is what the statute allows — not what an ad promises. In a 15% state, $300 borrowed costs $45 for two weeks (APR near 391%, which is exactly why a cash advance is a two-week tool rather than long-term credit). Where no statutory fee exists, the range is a market estimate; the contract you sign is the binding number.

Worked examples from the dataset

Same $300, same two weeks, different state law — this is the whole reason the calculator asks for your state:

StateFeeTotal repaidAPR (14 days)
Florida $30 $330 ≈261%
Missouri $225 $525 ≈1955%

What the calculator can't do

It models the flat-fee cash advance — one fee, one repayment — which is the licensed product in every state listed. It won't price tribal installment loans (those are lender-set across months, with no statutory input), and it won't reflect a specific lender's discounts or membership pricing. Treat the result as the legal outer edge of the market, then make real offers compete against it.

States that don't license cash advances aren't listed — see the honest status table across all covered states. Need larger sums in monthly installments? That's the tribal route — every state page (for instance Texas) prices the trade.

Disclosure. Certes Lodge is not a lender, does not broker loans, and makes no credit decisions. Tribal installment loans come from lenders operating under tribal law; state-licensed cash advances are extended by third-party lenders under your state's rules, with APRs that may run from 35.99% to 359.99% depending on the product and term. A short-term loan covers a temporary cash gap — it will not fix a long-term debt problem, and late or missed payments can trigger added fees and collection activity. Read the lender's agreement — especially the governing-law and arbitration clauses — before you sign anything.
